About Antrix Antrix started on 17 December 1990 by partners Peter and Anne, to provide costumes and desktop publishing to local customers. ​ Over the years, our services have gradually adapted to meet changing tastes and demands, and nowadays has predominantly evolved into the costumes being our main focus. ​ They say that “a picture paints a thousand words”. This is not necessarily true when it comes to choosing the right costume. How many times have you bought an article online and then found it’s not what you were expecting? ​ At Antrix, we prefer to offer a more personal service when it comes to costumes. All the costume and accessory pictures that you find on this site are items that are available from our premises, here in Loose, Maidstone (ME15 9TG). Most costumes are for hire, but some are for sale, including ex-hire ones. We do not sell or hire online. Payment is by cash, card or cheque. (Bank transfers by arrangement). ​ Antrix is based in a private house, but don’t let that put you off, as appearances can be deceptive. We currently have a collection of over 2000 costumes – mainly for adults but some children’s outfits are available. We also stock a varied selection of accessories, including wigs, masks, hats, make-up and other costume related items. ​ So why not look for a different experience to buying online? Antrix offers a wide range of hire costumes on a diverse selection of themes. Here are a few examples for some popular themes.. The front/Home page of this site offers a link to a full A-Z of other popular themes (and others), but in case you missed the link, here it is in a different form. It may sometimes seem cheaper to buy than to hire, but usually the quality of a purchased costume is not as high as a hire outfit, and you may find you have to accessorise the basic outfit to get the required look. Hiring from us, you usually get everything you need. We offer a friendly, knowledgeable service in a non-shop environment. Payment is preferably by cash or cheques so we can keep costs down and continue to hire quality costumes at a good price. We can take debit and credit cards but their use for the refundable deposit incurs a £2.00 fee..

In this section we cover glasses and eyewear which help create a character. There are many different styles, and the list is not exhaustive, but here are some examples The Harry Potter style. Thse may also come in a round wire-rimmed style. Such glasses may also be used for Where's Wally and a Nerd/Genius character The monocle accessory is frequently used for aristocratic characters, explorers or others wishing to give themselves a touch of the upper-class, especially Victorians & Edwardians. As a rule, monocles are only worn by males - females may prefer pinz-nez style small glasses. This style is often associated with Prof. Dumbledore of Hogwarts or Country Vicars.
